Great game by all. Heads up between the newcomer, Russ "The Pup" Ward and Ian "Legend" Iddles with Ledge being the final winner with Ace King against Ace Eight.

For a newcomer to poker with only 6 games under his belt, Russ has finished 3rd at workies , 3rd at our Friday night game and 2nd in the Millions, what a chip of the old Block lol. But Russ that is a brilliant effort and your proving your no push over, keep it up mate.

Unfortunately poppy the prince of poker was first to exit. With a rush of Blood when blinds are still small, called a sizable raise of Pocket AA with Q8 on the big blind, to see a flop bring AKJ. Russ bet a further 5k and Poppy smooth called to see a turn of the 10 of Spades, giving poppy the straight , poppy lead out with 5K , Russ re pops with 15K and poppy over the top with ALL In , Russ snap calls not realizing all that was needed was a queen for the Straight, to see the board pair on the river with a J of hearts giving Russ the knock out win with a full House and the dismissal of a seasoned player who always Runs deep.

Ledge played solid poker all night as usual and was assisted by 2 big wins from heaven or the trees where some primates live, (no names no packdrill) and went on to protect the big stack and use its power where needed a great solid win from the Big Man.

Dave the Donkey Hicks , Justin and Spiro all finished high on the leader board as expected, a real mix here of solid strong play and grinding. These 3 are ones to watch as consistent finishes like that will have them knocking on the banks door.

Di was unable to play and called in a substitute in Benny the Jockey. A nice enough bloke but i did see the scar were they removed his tail. He had the same read on the game as Di so the blending was seamless, (just kidding Di)

I departed in 9th Position and was disappointed in that greatly but that's poker. I pushed pre flop with Queens for 70K and my adorable wife Magilla the Gorilla woke up with Jacks and called her stack of for 55k to have the flop produce a jack in the window. No I was not Bitter or Twisted and the therapy will stop after 3 more visits.

The only unfortunate episode all night was a dispute on Table 2, when a player announced all in and another player in the Hand stacked their chips and used the words OK. The first player exposes his cards and other played declares i did not call i only said OK.

I mention this for future reference, we are all friends and want the game played in the best of spirits and also trying to establish a quality game of poker that is truly dying these days. As we all know a verbal anything depends on circumstances of what is happening, but when a player pushes all in and puts his game on the line, choosing words and or gestures need to be in line with the general rules and etiquette of poker, so for every one to be aware that words like OK with stacking of chips is a call. In 2005 or 2006 with 2 tables left in wsop final table Jamie Gold pushes all in and Paul Azinger, who had a lot less chips in his stack stacked his chips and with a slight motion forward said the words Rock and roll and Jamie Gold immediately exposed his hand to show a blind Straight, Paul Azinger retracted the hand declaring he never said call and was only trying to get a reaction, Game organizers were called in and the hand was declared a call after reviewing the footage and Paul Azinger departed in 17th Position and Jamie Gold the great pretender went on to win .

The Moral of this event is that these guys are playing for Millions at the highest level and that action saw Paul Azinger loose his grab at 7 million in first prize. He said in an interview later, it was a stupid thing to do on his behalf and he should have shown more respect for other players.

There is a lesson here

We are not playing for sheep stations but please be super careful of your actions and verbals!!!
